A very sad moment in the horse world is when little baby foals are left rejected without having a mare to feed them or someone to take care of them. A lot of times, if not most of the time this is caused by humans. Let’s take for example nurse mare foals.
These foals are brought to life simply because their mothers are needed to feed more expensive and at the same time profitable horses and then the future of them is either undetermined. However, let’s leave this out of here and focus on the fact that baby foals being rejected or without a future are part of a bitter reality of the horse world nowadays.
As beautiful as it is, we can’t ignore the fact that the horse world has its dark side as well and our job as animal supporters is to take some steps in order to improve it. Let’s now focus on the video below. There sure is a lot going on in this video! Willow, the dun mare at the beginning is surprised by seeing foals. She hasn’t been around babies since she was one so you can see curiosity and almost a concern/fear with her body language.
She was ready to run. Jackie, the next mare in the video, has had two foals and you can see excitement and curiosity. She has had her own foals and has been out in pastures with other mares and foals. The foals themselves are interesting to watch. They are interested in looking at everything and aren’t especially drawn to the other horses. They are taking all of it in.
As you can see, all the mares in the video below are confused about the new arrivals in the barn but on the other hand, the orphan foals are confused too, little do they know that their lives are about to get better as they are about to spend a lot of times with their new families who will take care of them for a very long time, if not eternity. Please watch the video below and let us know what you think about these beautiful and emotional moments.
